What did God create? Revisiting our doctrine of creation

God did not simply create roaming humans, He created inhabitation – humans inhabiting, administrating and deriving their livelihood from the (material and systemic) world around them (Acts 17:26). Human Life is the quality of relationship between the man and the space he shares with others – spiritual (Acts 17:28), social (Gen. 2:18) & physical (Gen 2:15). Revisiting our doctrine of creation empowers us to engage a comprehensive redemptive mission to mankind. #Kingdom_Humanity

Kingdom Ministry to the Public Square

We have been given public ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be witnesses (proclaimers) of Christ in cities and nations (Acts 1:8). The word “marketplace” (in our bibles) is the Greek word “agora“. It means a gathering place, an assembly, the public square (the word does not simply mean “business”). It was a central public space in ancient Greek city-states that was used for social, political, spiritual, commercial /business, artistic and athletic activities. It was a place where citizens met, engaged and exchanged ideas and thoughts. A place where public opinion and public narratives were developed, shaped and established. Not only did the early saints and apostles take the gospel to the agora (public places) (Acts 17:17) but the enemies of Christ also used the agora to oppose the gospel (Acts 16:19). Our present day agoras are schools, neighborhoods, universities, the workplace / business, political parties, civic organisations, restaurants, malls and all other places of public social events etc. Church is called to equip the saints to be effective ministers in the public square (Eph. 4:11-12). The word “ministry” meaning – to serve, to bring aid, relief and to attend to the needs of others, to wait on others (to be deacons of life). You have a revival in the city when ordinary saints possess a Holy Spirit infused kingdom passion to bring the gospel to the public square. I pray that the Spirit of God will empower us all to venture out into our various public spaces.

Cook Islands trip

Zamo Ntuli did a report last Sunday (17th June 18), telling the church of the amazing favor of the Lord during our Cook Islands trip in the month of May, and showing pics /faces of significant individuals we met and new relationships we made during the trip. Community Reporting, after significant trips like these, is not only consistent with ancient apostolic culture, but also ensures that the church “tracks the Lord” together with leadership concerning both (1) kingdom developments in the nations and (2) massive inner spiritual formation (back home) within the “sent” church itself – going to nations is a collective apostolic responsibility of the church and not an isolated task of leaders. We often travel over land and oceans to minister, only to unlock new spiritual formations and spiritual wells within our own hearts – this too must become the collective inheritance of the saints. Leaders must always find ways to “travel” and “move together” with the churches they lead. This is captured in the heart of Jesus, “… I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3). Paul and Barnabas went back to Antioch to report: “on arriving there, they gathered the Church together and reported all that God had done through them… ” (Acts 14:27).
